Sharjah Adventures [May. 25th, 2009|01:01 pm]

I spent part of yesterday in Sharjah with dubaiwalla. Our plans to see the Sharjah Art Museum were foiled (the doors were standing open, but the women inside informed us that the museum was closed) but we did see the Calligraphy Museum and the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization. And we wandered around and took pictures of stuff, as per usual.

Which came first - the goal post, or the lamp post?

For back pain. "It looks like something the CIA would do to people."

Not sure what one can buy here.

Wow. Just... wow.

("Elite feeling collection??!" I am indeed as curious as the taxi suggests.)

The picture of "Hint Grocery" is awesome. It makes for me the feeling of very homesick. The Thali twice as much so. *Sigh.....*

yummy food!! so in your job, are there certain rules in islam about you serving men - like not touching them or anything like that since you're not their wife? also with women in burka or strict muslims, only female flight attendants can help them? Albert and I were pondering about social laws and flights while sitting at the narita airport watching all of the stewardesses from different global flights arriving in their different outfits.

I like that the cab out in front of that shop says "CURIOUS?" in big letters.
In fact, I am curious, cab.

I'm not even 100% certain what the food is but it actually made me feel a little hungry.

We weren't entirely sure what went into one of the dishes even after we ate it. (But it was tasty.)

That meal looks darn tasty. Thank goodness my mum's still in town that the picture it hasn't driven me crazy.

Love the shop signs. Look forward to seeing some of Muscat's elite feeling collections later this summer!
