Hugh Laurie is Uncommonly Polite [Oct. 23rd, 2011|09:05 am]

June 30, 2011. Look, he's squeezing my shoulder!

If all of my passengers were as nice as Hugh Laurie, my job would be the best job in the world, hands down. I've never met anybody as polite as he and his lovely wife were. If I ever thought I knew anything about good manners, I could stand to take a lesson from Hugh Laurie. Surprise - he was funny, too.

Ok, *JEALOUSY*.

I have to kill you now.

Either that, or give up my dreams to become a flight atte stewardess.

Hee, when I first tried typing that, it came out as "slight attendant."

No, I am not drunk.

Much.

"Slight attendant," I like that. And would I hold it against you if you were? What are you having?

Good question. Something Italian, I think.

"Have had," past tense, not "having."

I was out at the theater earlier, and ran into a friend who was tending the bar there. Being a friend and all, she kept feeding me wine (ok, I bought her a bottle a couple of months ago too). I don't remember for sure what exactly it was, beyond the fact that it was Italian. And it was a blend of varietals - but aside from that, tasted not a million miles away from a syrah. I assume it had a bunch of syrah in it.

- "Red or white?"
- "Red."
- "More dry or more sweet?"
- "More dry."
- "Wait right here. I'll be back."

etc.

Italian blends are always good. Funny, that!

Ok, *JEALOUSY*.

This. I don't usually much care about celebrities, but ...

Re: Ok, *JEALOUSY*.

He is so hilarious and has the most expressive face I've EVER seen. Also, he's nice. I told him so, and he said, "I'm not nice."
But he's nice.

He definitely did not eat the delicious, plump pigeon.

They teach graciousness at Cambridge, you know. ;)

It's so nice you got to meet him but truly wonderful that he wasn't a self-absorbed flaming asshole.
