Tank tops and flip flops [Feb. 27th, 2004|02:23 pm]
susan smitten
My name is Susan. I live on the 42nd floor.

Friends, I have a lot to share but I haven't slept in something like 40 hours. I've taken lots of pictures of Dubai I can't share at the moment, but I can't wait to show you the new neighborhood.

My new home has 53 floors and a pool on the roof. Everyone's dressed like they're going surfing, but I can hardly see for the blinding sunshine.

Wish you were here!

I can't wait to show you! This place seems fantastic.. I've met several people who've been here for years and they seem to be hooked.

Hey, think Sascha would be interested in living in the desert? ;-)

Yuko, I started my induction into the company today, and I'm getting more and more excited. I think you would love this place! And they need a lot of crew...!

When do you want to? I'll be training for the next month and a half, but after that I should get a pretty clear picture of what my schedules will be like.

Glad you made it ok. This is pretty exciting. I guess the flight goes against the jet stream, so it takes a while to get there.

Man, I can't wait to show you! Japan's a great place, but I have a feeling Dubai will turn out to be more photogenic.

You're in Dubai?

Ahlan wa sahlan!

Guess you got the job then - congrats! (Air hostess for Emirates, right?)

53 floors - do you mean the Evil Tower? (The one with Cafe Cosmo on the bottom). Or is that new (Capricorn?) tower they've built solely for Emirates staff open yet?

Be great to meet up if you ever have time.

Re: You're in Dubai?

Sure! It seems like there are a ton of places to go out. Let's hook up, once I'm all oriented. I'm in the 21st Century Tower.. the alleged "tallest residential building in the world" (it has a heck of a spire).

Dubai Dubai Duuuuu

http://www.emirates.com and http://www.datadubai.com don't give a hint of what this 53 story monstrosity might be. Poking around, it looks like the Al Salam Tower with 50 stories above-ground.

The best I can come up with is:

Susan and Don
Sheikh Zayed Road
Al Salam Tower
Floor 42
P.O. Box No. 42XX
Dubai, U.A.E.

and

Emirates' Destination Management Company
Arabian Adventures
Emirates Holidays Building, 1st Floor,
Sheikh Zayed Road,
P O Box 7631
Dubai,
United Arab Emirates

Re: Dubai Dubai Duuuuu

So..

Sheikh Zayed Road
21st Century Tower
Floor 42
P.O. Box No. 4206 Room A
Dubai, U.A.E.

Nice detective work, nonetheless. :)

Howdy, I don't know if you'll recall me exactly, but it seems I remember you. I'm sure I can be less vague...
