Two days ago, we watched John Cleese's Wine for the Confused and it really did clear some things up for us. For example, you know when some cabernet sauvignons taste like green peppers? It's really horrid, and I have written about it more than once at chu_hi_wines. Now I know how it happens: if the weather never gets warm enough, the cabernet grapes don't ripen properly, and the sour grapes make *shudder* green pepper wine! Mystery solved!
Yesterday, on my flight to Cairo, I looked out the window and saw The Palm Jumeirah and The World for the first time. I've been looking for two years now, without seeing either. Maaan, they are cool. The Palm is quite elegant and lovely, and The World is just massive!!
I CAN'T STOP listening to Barenaked Ladies' Born on a Pirate Ship. It's an affliction, not unlike the time last year when I was a victim of TMBG's The Spine, or when I was stricken by Red Hot Chili Peppers' By The Way in late 2003. LISTEN to Born on a Pirate Ship, I implore you.
Somebody posted this video on tmbg. A guy asks girls on the campus of a women's college to sign a petition to "end women's suffrage." Funny, with a good soundtrack!
We've been eating moussaka for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for about three days now. The kind with mutton, not the equally cool vegetarian kind with pumpkins and red bells.
I was going to post about ten pictures of the get-together @ Robert & Emily's last month, but Fireworks crashed before I could export them, so here's a blurry picture of Beth & Clay's cat instead.
