Looks like 2007 is turning out to be the Year of Pretty Meteorological Phenomena, at least for me. First a several-hour-long viewing of Comet McNaught, then Northern Lights, and then last night... St. Elmo's Fire! I tried to capture it on film and video, but could hardly represent what I saw. It reminded me of nerve cells. It looked like we were flying through somebody's brain.

I don't know! I had never seen it. I asked the pilots if it was common, and they said, "Sorta, when we fly through this kind of clouds." The plasma thing was dancing all over the windows. It was unreal.

I agree, kinda spooky! What with all that electrical equipment right there. Pop lived out in the country part of his childhood, and there was a place near a creek where blue lights would do weird things after dark. His father saw them dancing around on a milk cow, which he found scary. So did the cow.
