This week's Time Out Dubai has a review of all the local Karaoke venues. The review of Hibiki in the Hyatt Regency reads,
Interestingly, the hefty song menu was prefaced by a scribbled instruction - "No My Way, No Hotel California and Absolutely No Celine Dion," which we couldn't help but admire.

amen! i don't think i've *ever* heard someone sing 'my way' at karaoke, though, or even play it in a bar or whatever. just not a very popular song over here.

Ugh, my experience is that two or three people an hour decide to tackle it. Once is bad enough - it just does not sound right when anybody besides Mr. Sinatra sings it. Oh, and it's stupid.

So I was ranting about how everybody sings that and "Hotel California," to antivert and istara, and she penciled that "rule" onto the front page of the book. I was ROTFLOL-ing.
