Walking in Deutschland [Jul. 21st, 2007|05:18 pm]

This is scenery I found walking around a town just outside Frankfurt.

I love it when plants devour buildings.

Candy cane stripes for dubaiwalla

Pretty green spikes.

I think I see an ohm in this one.

You were all yellow.

I got lost in all the window dressings..

..and distracted by the grafitti that is all over this country.

I like the asymmetry of this.

Bavaria and some points south are scrubby-scrubby free of spray painting, I noticed.

Of course they have sparkling cleanhighway restrooms, manned by people who take tips to keep them that way. I was baffled.

Thanks!

I've barely been to Bavaria, and don't remember the restrooms or conspicuous lack of grafitti. But the parts of Deutschland I see the most - Frankfurt and Hamburg - are covered in scribbles! Sometimes I see teams of official-looking people Crayola-ing all over the walls!

an om, you mean - an ohm looks like Ω. but very well spotted indeed.

Oops! I think I spelled it wrong! I meant an "Om." Like this:

Sorry to be pedantic but it's actually pronounced Aum (or Ow!imm, to put it phonetically). :)

Om is a wrong transliteration into English.

I knew which symbol you meant. You don't seem to be the type to spot the symbol for electrical resistance in something. Much more likely that you meant the 'everything is born. everything lives. everything dies. everything is born again.' symbol.
