Ooh! No! I saw those Mao portraits. But I didn't see a Campbell's soup dress!
okay, forget Warhol... these pictures are amazing in themselves! I LOVE THESE!
Thank you! I had fun taking them. =)
I love how Warhol's art feels so accessible and unpretentious.
wish i could see those little pieces on the wall with the hands!
was photography allowed? uhmmMMM~! ;)
It was not. I would've gotten a lot more if I hadn't had to be sneaky!
This exhibit is only about 10,000% more involved than the one up here. Boo to here.
And, from looking for a bit, isn't it interesting how the prints are so...underwhelming? It's almost exactly similar to looking at Warhol prints in a magazine -- as opposed to the grandeur of a Rothko, or something with layers and layers you knly notice up close. I really respect that, though I can't explain why.
Have you ever been to the Warhol museum in Pittsburgh, PA (USA)? When I lived there for school (undergrad) I was able to visit on two separate occasions. He is not my favorite artist -- I'm generally not a huge fan of pop art -- but one really has to admire his audacity and his eccentricity.
The piece in the last photo was recently at the Denver Art Museum (DAM), as part of the RADAR exhibit. You would have really liked that, I bet (as did I).
