Another song about free speech

Public service announcement post!

Secret Dubai's article on the suppression of ideas in the media:
http://istara.livejournal.com/229402.html

Typical frustrating discussion about said article, rich with attitudes like "if you don't like it, you can go home," and "I still have the company's VPN so I don't care":
https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=11534962&postID=7174350685484037838

Tabloid article in which a spokesman for the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority addresses "the offensive language and the lies that had been spread on the site, 'mutilating' their beautiful city and twisting facts to dishonour the development and progress of the city":

The irony makes Cthulhu not hungry*; Secret Dubai is actively contributing ideas on how the UAE can improve its media freedom reputation, and what is the response? To hide the story from the people living here, so only critics abroad can read it. Maybe the blog is unblocked now, but it wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last.
