Wow. Healthy junk food.

This is a tasty vegetarian sandwich, from recipesource.com:

                      MARILYN BURGERS
 
Serving Size  : Feeds two people for about 5 days.   
Categories    : Vegetarian                       
                Burgers
 
Amount   Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------  ------------  --------------------------------
1        c             Ground almonds
 1/4     c             Tahini (sesame paste)
 1/4     c             Soy sauce (or tamari)
 1/2                   Onion, diced fine
1                      Carrot, diced fine
                       Juice of one lemon
 
Add everything to the almonds. Make patties and fry
in a little oil or broil. Handle carefully as not to
break.

Got a food processor?

Don's variation was to stir in raw bread crumbs to make it easier to form patties. He also added some black sesame seeds and a couple of chopped sun-dried tomatoes.

The mix is actually delicious raw. Of course, it's better if you cook it.

I had it burger-style with tomato, lettuce, ketchup and mustard. It is the richest thing I have EVER had. He feels the texture isn't as meaty as the rice burgers he made last week, but I think the texture is great.

I like the way we eat when we're poor. We had eggplant parmesan for lunch.
