"The streets are paved with diamonds..."

Two India books:
I read (and wrote book reports for) the enthralling and ecumenical Holy Cow! by Sarah Macdonald and the dreamlike The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri, but the machine I'm on won't let me install the drivers for my USB thingy. So I'll post my reviews later, but know that I endorse reading both of them as soon as possible. And not just because they are related to India.

It's something I'm not doing very much of. I went to London earlier in the month, and I'll go to New York twice. That leaves 21 days off. I won't get a huge salary, but you won't hear me complaining.

(But if I were expecting a bigger paycheck, you can bet I would have bought the Karaoke machine I tried out today. It ruuuuules... I see it in my future.)

New York:
I've been to New York a lot recently. These pictures were taken the first time Emirates sent me there - for the inaugural flight.

Somewhere near Canal Street, I think..

This might be part of NYU. (I welcome corrections.)
