Don and I just spent a week or so in Kenya. We love Kenya! We took thousands of pictures ~ this is just a taste.
That's Hannie, one of our road trip companions. (We were eight.)
Enjoying a Tusker in Machakos
Friend Benjamin, who invited us along on his holiday, and his nephew, George. This is one of those places where water runs uphill, and you get winded walking "down."
This was the first time I ever saw anybody jump a battery by taking the battery out of the other car and applying the contacts directly.
Zebras just roam all over the place...
...and primates rule the road.
We stayed one night in this Masai-style "Acacia Resort." Here's myself and "Mister" Mwangi sitting under a shelter made from cow dung.
Heh, a friend of mine should be in Kenya about now for a 2 week trip. She didn't really have a plan for communication while there, but she rarely plans stuff for trips, so I guess we will find out when we go to pick her up at the airport :p
I think I suffered permanent mental damage from the one that mentioned Kuala Lumpur. I refuse to look it up for fear it will get stuck in my head again.
Those Masai, a makin' everything from cow dung, even hair care products.
Also interesting is their curious custom of making Rubik's Cubes from cow flop and using them as body ornamentation - nice to see Don was getting in the spirit!
