Mom's eBay store... [Dec. 29th, 2009|05:08 am]

Let me show you it! My mother didn't seem to understand why I was taking so many pictures of her eBay stuff. But it's fascinating! Especially to somebody like me, who has never been organized. Why couldn't I have inherited this methodicalness and follow through?

When we visited a month ago, she had sold over 9,000 books.

The warehouse on the 2nd floor of their new home. Those tubs are full of paperbacks.

She has also sold hundreds of puzzles and craft supplies.

The shipping department. My dad built that table for around no dollars.

I believe she claimed to be uncharacteristically relaxed about her record keeping.

This inventory record shows books by a particular author.

And this is a chronological payment record, and a page of customer locations.

So that is just one of the things my mom is doing with her so-called retirement. My parents are... busy.

Wow! Very impressive! And very profitable too, I noticed the 'my price' and 'sell price' has a very healthy + difference.

What is that big industrial gadget on the table, complete with handle and oil tank?

That life belt in first picture, is not for sale I presume;-)

Not quite as profitable as it might appear (see my reply to a previous comment). However, I am having a lot of fun with it. The industrial gadget is a paper tape dispenser. The little tank holds water that moistens the tape. My "shipping clerk" (chu hi's dad)uses it to seal the packages when we ship. No, the life belt isn't for sale. Our son was in the merchant marine at one time and acquired it.

Hi [Susie's] Mom,
Oh dear, so the 'healthy difference' goes to eBay, no wonder they are a profitable company.

Oh a paper tape dispenser, I have never seen one of those. With the handle and all one would mistake it for something else.

Paper Tape Dispenser

It looks rather primitive but actually makes a professional-looking package. We found it at a garage sale!
