Today I saw 7 Khoon Maaf, a Vishal Bhardwaj film, with a few friends including Vishal K. Bharadwaj, who wants you to know that he did NOT direct this film. As the only woman in our group, I liked it the most. We all agreed the film "didn't know what it was trying to be," and was "trying to be a film for everyone," and that the most painful and awkward scenes were some of the funniest (like the violent sex scene involving Irrfan Khan). Vishal didn't like the whip fight. The whole audience tittered at Ruskin Bond's cameo. Don liked newcoming actor Vivaan Shah. I liked Priyanka. Priyanka can act!
Then we had falafels and chai at this cafeteria where our friends have been eating for ten years.
I was amused, this evening, to hear "O Mama," the film's goofiest song by far, on the radio while I was cleaning the house. Meow-like eyes!
