Re: Escape

That sounds fabulous.

And oh, yeah, that story is sounding familiar from your LJ. It sounds beautiful and intense. Is it in English?

Uniform Aesthetics

I moved permanently to Isola d’ Ischia in 1999. Tried hard to pick up the language, but since my landlord, friends, and the waiter at La Piazzetta all are bi-lingual, it wasn’t necessary. Whenever they ask me how come I don’t speak Italian, I say, “Well, I’m still trying to master English!”

Browsing your archives this morning these two, among many others, struck me. I’ve always been a cat lover, and as a former military man I appreciate the aesthetics of a great uniform! And of course I refer to yours, not that of what’s-her-name!

Re: Uniform Aesthetics

Ugh, I HATE it when people ask, "why don't you speak...?" I'm like, because I'm not that smart, okay!!@# Thanks for going through my archives, but beware of going through them too carefully; there's a danger of wasting one's whole life. That said, I do love those two pictures. The first one, I carry around in my phone for people who ask to see my cats. The second is Seven-of-Nine!

Re: Uniform Aesthetics

A quick series of mouse clicks tells me this creature Seven-of-Nine is a former Borg drone (whatever that is!), who explores the positive and negative sides of human individuality. She occasionally creates conflict by her comments on humanity and all its follies. Before her arrival the crew members were just one big happy family. There’s more. Seven-of-Nine is “a logical, matter-of-fact, extremely blunt young woman who has difficulties expressing human emotion. Sometimes she behaves condescendingly towards human weaknesses and inefficiency, but slowly grows loyal to the crew she comes to call her collective.”

Well, it seems to me that Seven-of-Nine says one thing, and your photos say another!
