Admittedly, not yet... but that's mostly because I haven't yet figured out what to pair it with. “Cake” — in the traditional Euro-American sense — seems like it could make for an unfortunate combination.
For a while I was thinking of either the double chocolate chili cookies, or the spicy chipotle shortbread from Mr. Pinks
, but the more I think about it, the less convinced I am that “wasabi spicy” and “chili pepper spicy” would actually be the greatest pairing after all.
However! While I've yet to actually try one, I've seen a number of different recipes for chocolate couscous cake
and I can see that pairing working.
After all, if a chocolate cake with an avocado frosting
, then why not wasabi?
