Dressing up for the Troop Cafe.

Me with my man.

Steve and myself.

Look at the beer-swilling person just under Mick's arm.

"My satin doll..."

Actually, Scott and everyone else involved with probably kill me for posting this publicly. Enjoy before it gets deleted.

I had to work Saturday, but I was fine. I thought, "I'm still young! I can dance all night, and report to work bright and early!" However, on Sunday I awoke feeling like I'd been trampled by horses. That was how I began my three-day enkai with Akiko and friends...

Definitely, we ought to meet up. I am in Yokosuka...have no clue where that is in relation to you.

You're just outside Tokyo? I'm between Osaka and Kobe, which are about 10 minutes apart by Shinkansen or 20 minutes by commuter train.

I've been to Tokyo but not your area. So you could show me around, or else come out here and get our tour. :-)

Where exactly is Osaka? I am near some pretty cool things--Kamakura and the Daibutsu for one.

Wow, someone else is up at 3:30. :^) You know Shikoku, between Kyushu and Honshu? And a bay separates Honshu and Shikoku? Kobe and Osaka are port cities just inside that bay. Kyoto is about an hour a day.

It would take your whole life to tour all three cities, but Kobe can be covered in a weekend.

Your corner of Japan is actually not represented too well in my atlas. But it looks like it's about an hour from Tokyo, in Saitama prefecture? Or Tokyo prefecture?

Kanagawa Prefecture. we are about an hour by train from Tokyo, very close to Yokohama (north of it) Yokosuka. As in the gigantic naval base.

Oh, I've heard of the naval base and Kanagawa (your governor is always being quoted), but I'd never heard of Yokosuka! Is it nice?

Yeah, it's pretty. There are a lot of nice parks and gardens and such. Mountains and forest and urban centers--a good mix.
