Some miscellaneous pictures having nothing to do with each other [Jan. 20th, 2005|10:49 pm]

I'm sick again. The doctor confirmed my suspicion that it's "a viral upper respiratory infection," which is the only thing I ever seem to get. At least she didn't put me on antibiotics. Also, I think I messed up my shoulder helping to lift a paraplegic woman. So I'm feeling pretty useless.

Me v. Don
If Scrabble shows a mirror of the unconscious mind, we're in sad shape.

it's not ghetto!
A wine glass rack that Don made from wire hangers. He made another just like it.

Some vinegar and oil in the sink. Pretty or ew?

Detail of a Thai Airways 747 paint job. (This is called 'livery')

Fat Albert
The whole thing. Panorama manually (and messily) patched together by me.

Oh yeah, did you see the unveiling of the Airbus 380? I watched it for about an hour on TV, and the pomp and fanfare got me really excited. This aircraft will change everything... Did you know Emirates has ordered 45 of these? (according to airbus.com)

As a favor to a friend, I'm going to London on the 26th. Look out, Marks & Spencer!

(For those of you unfamiliar with Marks & Spencer, they are my secret London lovers. Shh!)

p.s. Don and I just watched the first three episodes of LOST. I'm scaaaared. It's scaaaaary.

I read about the 380, it's huge! When will Emirates start using them?

The first one will be delivered in September 2006. Meanwhile, they are upgrading the airport to support it.

You're right, it IS huge! Only certain airports will be equipped for it, and only routes over flight paths where diversion is possible will be considered. It will have the potential of transporting 900 passengers, depending on the configuration.

M&S are out. My new fling is Contra-Evolutionary. I'm thinking of asking its hand in marriage, if that is alright with you.

Welcome to the family

*sighs* I can't believe my baby story arc is growing up so fast, why it seems like yesterday it was toddling out into the information superhighway. How time flies. *looks pensive*

Where are they? I'd like to see them. (Wouldn't like to smell them, however.)

Johnny Bluejeans from Viva Variety! And he's on EVERY EPISODE of anything VH1 ever did that starts with "I love..."
not that i'm complaining, of course. And (not that you'd know from the picture) he's the pets.com dog puppet voice...thing.
he's done stuff.

Thanks! I have no idea what these things are, but he sounds cool. And now I understand all the "love" in her icon. :^)

You need to get well, being sick sucks.

I usedta be sick 24/7 because of my tonsils.. they were taken out what 3 years ago now? PLus my uvula, that was fun! Ehh not really but thankfully now I don't get sick so much.. it took like a year for my frequent illnesses to really die out but now I hardly ever get sick.. last time was from my niece, and that was mid/early summer :P

yeah, the sink picture is pretty gross. michael ian black is a member of the stella comedy group. he's gotten a lot of popularity from all those "i love the..." shows on vh1, but you should definitely check him out in "wet hot american summer." also, if you haven't seen my latest post in the tmbg community, http://www.livejournal.com/community/tmbg/342777.html, check it out. it's fun, but time-consuming. get well soon.

Your post is awesome... I don't know if I'm up for the challenge, but I'll definitely try it. I'm quite impressed with what other people have suggested.

And now I know to check out "Wet Hot." Thanks!

leave it to the stoner in me to immediately see dank on your scrabble board.

the vinagrette is purdy. that's called a loose vinagrette when the oil and vinegar aren't emulsified!

That board is full of double-entendre.

Weird picture, huh? I had a plate with oil and vinegar on it, and I decided to shake it over the sink before throwing it in the dishwasher, and we can all see the result. I've never heard of a "loose vinagrette." Been watching Food Network? That's all I watched when we had cable, like, 100 years ago. (Ming Tsai!!)

props to whoever played "mixer"! that looks like a pretty good play, if i am not mistaken. was "quiz" the first word on the board?

Yup, I was first and I played "quiz." I was pretty proud of myself.. until Don countered with "mixer," which was also worth a hefty pile of points.

Do you have these upper respiratory problems since you are here?
I have had trouble with that allmy life, but usually maximum once a year.
Since moving here, I have it constantly, and the breathing problems are the worst.
I blame it on the no-heating in the winter, when the house gets rather cool, and the air conditioning in the summer... you sweat, go inside somewhere and freeze to the spot, bumm! you are sick...
